The PPS-17WPB 110dB personal alarm by Vigilant Personal Protection Systems is the first and only model of hand carried personal alarms to be weatherproof!** Hang it in your shower, clip it to the hand rails of your bathtub, or use the utility strap to fix it on to the outside of a backpack. It's the only alarm on the market to be weather sealed to ensure it can stand up to the rain, your bathroom humidity, or other aggressive environments and still perform in the event of an emergency.
Vigilant developed this alarm based on requests over the years from many customers for a waterproof alarm. Every other alarm in existence can't be waterproof by definition - alarms require openings to be able to emit sound, push buttons, pull pins, or other features that are not conducive to using them in moisture conditions. The PPS-17WPB is using a patent pending process of sealing the alarm with a unique silicone seal, creating the first ever waterproof personal alarm.
How will you use it? Buy a suction cup shower hook, and put the PPS-17WPB by the shampoo rack of an elderly persons shower as a caregiver alert. Add a neck lanyard you provide, and use it like a personal fall alert system. Strap it to a backpack using the included utility attachment strap. **We do not recommend you submerge the alarm in water for any extended period of time. It is fine to hang in the shower, expose to rain or other normal humid conditions, or expose it for brief periods of time to water directly. It is an electronic item, so we do not recommend you submerge it use it under water. It is impervious to normal user conditions including rain, shower spray, or normal humidity.
