The nighttime images captured by the X8IR are made possible through the use of the 35 No-Glo IR (Black Infrared) emitters with range control that illuminate with an effective range of 40 feet without spooking the animal and providing better quality photos in the dark. Other great features of the X8IR include VGA digital video at 20 FPS, 15/30/60 second video clips, 1/3/6 Burst Mode Technology for still images and a 20 second /1/5/10 second time. The SD external memory card slot accepts up to 16 GB. The digital video stamping allows the user to view time/date/moonphase on last frame to accurately track the animal activity.
