The Acorn 5210A is a portable infrared trail camera, it offers long running time, VGA video resolution & 12MP photos (interpolated from 5MP).
Often known as a game camera, scouting camera, hunting camera or wildlife camera trap - this device is also used extensively for video surveillance in remote areas where connection to mains power is not possible.
Thanks to the built in infrared, it can capture video footage & photos in complete darkness or daylight and will only do so when motion is detected as it also has 3 built in motion/heat sensors. The camera holds 4 AA batteries as standard, which can give you running time of up to 3 months. However, this can be increased to up to 6 months using the additional four battery slots in the back of the camera.
The Acorn 5210A can take stills of 12MP (interpolated from 5MP) quality or record video at 640x480 resolution. Not only this but the Acorn 5210A Trail Camera also has the superb prep motion sensors. These prep sensors are in addition to the main central sensor and are designed so that the camera is triggered as movement is detected outside the actual lens view - this prepares the camera in advance so that it is ready to shoot as the subject moves into the lens view, meaning you get optimum recorded footage of the animal or subject.
The Acorn 5210A has password protection, 16G max SD card storage (SD card not supplied), time & date stamping, timer recording,and even a timelapse feature that allows you to tell the camera to take a photo at set intervals regardless of whether any movement has been detected.
The 940nm infrared frequency offers around 30% less beam strength but does not give off the feint red glow (when in operation) that the standard 850nm version does.
