North Safety B-Safe Universal Butterfly Valve Lockout, Red (Pack of 1)

The North Safety B-Safe universal butterfly valve lockout is an adjustable sliding clamp that covers a range of butterfly valve handle sizes and combines with a padlock (sold separately) to help protect against valve opening during maintenance and repair. Polypropylene is electrically nonconductive, chemical resistant, and functions in temperatures from -50 to 360 degrees F (-46 to 183 degrees C). The locking hole accommodates padlock shackles of up to 0.375"/9.5 mm outside diameter. The lockout measures 2.75 x 4 x 12 inches/70 x 102 x 305 mm (H x W x D). (H is height, the vertical distance from lowest to highest point; W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; D is depth, the horizontal distance from front to back.) This device is part of a lockout/tagout (LOTO) safety procedure required at facilities where energy sources need to be isolated during maintenance and repair.

Lockout/tagout (LOTO) safety procedures require that lockout devices meet Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 1910.147(c)(5) standards for quality assurance. Lockout/tagout (LOTO) devices use color, warning labels or tags, and sometimes a physical barrier to help prevent machine operation or power activation during maintenance and repair.
